The winner received a certificate for a boat inspection service and a unique handcrafted Puerto Rican flag made from reclaimed wood.
Antilles Power Depot is a regular sponsor of the International Billfish Tournament. In the 2024 IBT71 edition, 45 vessels participated, with 200 anglers from five countries: Guatemala, South Africa, the Dominican Republic, the United States, and Puerto Rico. Three vessels tied for the top spot by catching and releasing three billfish each, with a tiebreaker determining the winner*. Seven other vessels released two, and 11 boats had one release, totaling 21 vessels with notable sporting action.
*With three blue marlins released, Doña Lucy won the 71st edition of the Club Náutico San Juan International Billfish Tournament. Doña Lucy was followed by the local vessels Hook Up and Salty Mood, all with three catches. Doña Lucy released the third marlin first, which served as the tiebreaker.
