Antilles Power Promotes Employee Health, Safety, and Respect
At Antilles Power, our commitment to our people extends beyond daily operations. Throughout October 2026, our team participated in initiatives focused on preventive healthcare, workplace awareness, and fostering a safer, more respectful environment.
Health and Preventive Care
Our 2026 Health Fair provided employees with access to laboratory services, blood pressure and oxygen screenings, chiropractic care, naturopathy, vision services, and information about available benefits and employee assistance resources. Bringing these services into the workplace made preventive care more accessible and helped employees learn about resources available to them.
We thank Fulcro for helping prepare and coordinate the event, Lcda. Zorielu Orta-Montes, MPHE, CHES, MHFA, for her support throughout the process, and the providers and members of our team who contributed their time and expertise.
Building Awareness Around Mental Health and Workplace Relationships
Our team also participated in the educational session “Before We Normalize It: Identifying Violent Environments in the Workplace,” organized by SHRM Puerto Rico Chapter – Society for Human Resource Management and presented by Andrés C. Claudio.
The discussion encouraged reflection on the behaviors we tolerate, the practices we normalize, and their impact on individuals and organizational culture. Mental health in the workplace also means recognizing how we treat one another, how we listen, and how we respond when behaviors affect others. Respect must be reflected in our everyday decisions, conversations, and actions.
Workplace Compliance and Violence Prevention Education
Additionally, our team received an educational session facilitated by María Abrams of the Office of the Women's Advocate of Puerto Rico (Oficina de la Procuradora de las mujeres), covering Act No. 17, concerning sexual harassment in the workplace, and Act No. 217, addressing procedures for handling domestic violence situations in the workplace.
This initiative reinforced the importance of ensuring employees understand their rights, recognize warning signs, and know where to find available resources and support. Legal compliance is essential, but so is our responsibility as an employer to educate, prevent harm, and ensure that employees know their options.
We thank the Office of the Women's Advocate and María Abrams for sharing valuable tools that strengthen awareness and prevention within our team.
Our Commitment to Our People
These three initiatives reflect a shared commitment to providing access to preventive health services, encouraging meaningful conversations, and equipping employees with information that helps them recognize risks and seek support when needed.
At Antilles Power, we believe a strong organization is built on more than operational performance. It also depends on creating a workplace where people feel informed, respected, and supported.
By investing in education, prevention, and a culture of respect, we strengthen our team and contribute to the long-term sustainability of our organization. Thanks to Dayana Febres, our Human Resources Director, for making these initiatives possible.
